Who I am

Hi there! My name is Alessio Scrocco and I am a TBI survivor. I created TBI Forums to help others who have gone through similar experiences as me. Let me share my story with you.

Back in 2006 and 2007, I was playing semi-pro soccer in Italy during the summers. I had aspirations to try out for a professional team, but I decided to finish high school first. Unfortunately, on December 12, 2007 at 7:20 AM, my life changed forever. I got into a car accident while driving to high school, which resulted in me falling into a coma for a month and a half. I had lost movement on the entire right side of my body. It was devastating, and I knew my life would never be the same again.

The road to recovery was tough, and I struggled with depression for a long time without realizing it. It wasn’t until 10 years later that I found out I was having seizures. With the help of medication, I was able to manage my condition and noticed a significant improvement in my moods.

During my recovery, I scoured the internet for resources to help me heal better, faster, and more efficiently. Sadly, all I found were articles, blogs, and forums from the caretaker’s point of view, with nothing tailored to help me as a TBI survivor. That’s why I created TBI Forums – to be the place I needed when I was healing. I wanted to create a space for TBI survivors to come together and share their stories, experiences, and tips for healing.

I am excited about the potential of TBI Forums to help others heal quicker and be their best selves. My goal is to encourage respectful and encouraging conversations that empower TBI survivors to take control of their healing process. Please feel free to sign up and post anything you want, and don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you have any suggestions or want to help. You can contact me at [email protected] if you want to collaborate, ask me questions, or just want to chat. I can’t wait to hear from you and see the TBI Forums community grow!
